Here's my cheat sheet for you:
2. Follow up! After your lead accepts your invitation, you can wait a day or two and follow up. LinkedIn is perfect for reaching out leads because every message that you send to a person in your network actually goes in their email inbox! If you are just starting out to build your email's list, LinkedIn is the cheapest and very best way to reach out to your target market. It costs you nothing, but few minutes per day!
3. Post updates every day! Posting updates every day will immediately increase your profile rank. This process could easily be automated with services like Hootsuite and SocialPilot.
SocialPilot.co is a great website that will allow you to auto post updates on your LinkedIn profile wall, LinkedIn company page, or in a LinkedIn group. With 30 minutes of scheduling posts per month, you will save a lot more time than posting updates manually every day!
Tip: People don't spend so much time on reading updates. If you want to gain a momentum and quickly increase your profile rank, post motivational/leadership quotes, pictures, and videos!
4. Post weekly article on Pulse! If you are an entrepreneur, writer, blogger, marketer, journalist, retailer, agency, or company, one of the very best ways to reach out to the wide public in LinkedIn is through high quality articles in Pulse. If your article catches the attention of the LinkedIn editorial team, it will be featured in one or more categories.
This will almost automatically increase your LinkedIn author's page followers base, create new business opportunities for you, and you will be able to sell anything you want if you play your cards right!
